Pattie Palace provides jamaican food to Middletown.
This micro-sized restaurant was entirely empty at around 5:30PM when we arrived on Mother's Day. We would probably have made a fast U-turn had it not been for my $30 SaveNowCT certificate, but we advanced forward and ordered takeout. We settled on large orders of jerk chicken and ribs, but were told they were out of the ribs so we opted for curry chicken. To reach the face value of our certificate, we also ordered 5 chicken patties, but were told they only had 2 so we took those plus 3 beef patties. My expectations at this point were pretty low, but both jerk and curry chicken were very moist and the meat fell off the bone. The accompanying peas and rice as well as the steamed veggies, primarily cabbage, were very good as well, however, the menu promised plantains were MIA. We had plenty of leftovers, particularly rice and peas, for the day following. The patties were more than decent, but were not nearly as flavorful as found at Scott's in Hartford.
