The Pansy Craze is a musical about female impersonators who lived and performed during the Jazz Age of 1920s America. (These gals sashayed way before we chantayed.) Through memories told by Phil Black, street queens Monique Monroe and Lucille Velez will learn of a gay history they hadn't known before.
Hartford Stage and the creative team of The Pansy Craze will present the premiere theatrical reading of our musical déjà vu to benefit the Hartford Gay Men's Chorus. Starring Alex Bowen, Mark Sage Hamilton, Steve Mitchell, Mike Morales, John Roush and Kate Morran, The Pansy Craze will enlighten, exhilarate and empower.
The play contains adult language and situations relating to the LGBTQ+ community.
