Friday, September 20, 7:30 p.m., Poetry Reading with Cynthia Manick, Westover School's Adams Library, Middlebury. Free and open to the public. In addition to her reading, Manick will conduct a poetry workshop with a number of Westover students and faculty earlier in the day. Westover's Visiting Poets Program is underwritten by the Nancy May Rennell Field '35 Fund. Manick is the author of Blue Hallelujahs. She has received fellowships from Cave Canem, Hedgebrook, and the MacDowell Colony, among others. A winner of the Lascaux Prize in Collected Poetry, Manick was also awarded Honorable Mention for the 2019 Furious Flower Poetry Prize. She is founder and curator of the quarterly reading series Soul Sister Revue in New York City. Her poem "Things I Carry Into the World" was made into a film by Motionpoems, an organization dedicated to video poetry, and has debuted on the streaming service Tidal for National Poetry Month.
