SpEdConnecticut is announcing a 12-week Special Education Training (beginning September 18) for professionals, parents and non-profit organizations, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., CT Community Non-Profit Alliance, 75 Charter Oak Ave., Hartford. The program is designed to help individuals or organizations help navigate the world of special education. Each of the 12 courses have a different topic and can be taken as an entire 12-week course or on a week-by-week basis. The course schedule, presenters and topics each week are as follows: September 18, Diane Wilcutts, Special Education Overview; September 25, Bogdan Zamfir, Assistive Technology; October 2, Sheryl Knapp, Reading Interventions; October 9, John Molteni, Attorney Christina Ghio, Emotional Disturbance Advocating in the School; October 16, Randy Ewart, Math Interventions; October 23, Adrienne Smaller, Scientific Based Research Interventions; October 30, Judy Rosenfeld, Speech, Language Disorders; November 6, Shelley Pelletier, Neuropsych Evaluations; November 13, Attorney Melanie Dunn, Special Education Law; November 20, Joe Prignano, Transition Planning; December 4, Katrina Gitman, ADD/ADHD; and December 11, Coley Schwartz, Autism.
