Eight week session, beginning Tuesday, August 20, 5:30-7 p.m., Grandparent Group On Addiction Issues. The McCall Center for Behavioral Health is providing the program for grandparents raising grandchildren and other kin raising kin at no cost to participants. The program is made possible through a grant from the Western CT Area Agency on Aging. Participants will explore their needs, emotions and self- care as they raise a child whose parent(s) are struggling with addiction. They will also learn how to create a plan to help the child better understand and cope with the complicated emotions that accompany being a family member of someone with this disease. Meetings will be held at Brooker Memorial on alternate Tuesday evenings beginning August 20. Baby-sitting and a light supper will be provided.
