Saturday, June 22 and June 29, 9:30-11:30 a.m., A Better Way to Feed Birds, Manchester Community College. $45. People love to feed birds and see them up close, with their colors and unique behaviors. For too many of us, the birds stop in for seeds in the spring and then leave to build their nests elsewhere. Come learn why they choose to nest and raise their young somewhere other than your property, and the few simple steps you can do to keep them on your property, so that you can view and enjoy them from spring through fall, while increasing the diversity of species that choose to call your home their home. We will also discuss bird hygiene and the human benefits of interacting with birds. Instructor: Norma Miller, M.A.T., Master Gardener. Register in person at the Registrar's Office in the Student Services Center or by phone: 860-512-3232.
