The Wethersfield Historical Society presents the Keeney Koolers Concert Series on three consecutive Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, food and beverages, and kick back and relax with some great Connecticut talent. Bring your dancing shoes! In the event of rain, the concerts move indoors to the second floor of the Keeney Memorial Cultural Center in the Keeney Ballroom.
Join us before the concerts for even more fun for the little ones. From 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wethersfield Historical Society will be hosting children's activities, including sailing boats in our fountain. Crafts will include making fans, pom-pom caterpillars, and "stained glass" bookmarks. Stay tuned for more activities!
Sponsored by the Robert Allan Keeney Memorial Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, Wethersfield Historical Society has been providing these concerts for over fifteen years.
The concert schedule is:
July 9 - Ed Fast and Conga Bop Afro-Cuban influenced rhythms and hard-bop harmony fused to create unique, soulful originals and creatively arranged jazz standards.
July 16 - Chat Noir takes European-style cafe music to the next level! Their groove consists of clarinet, guitar, accordion, and bass offering everything from gypsy swing to Italian standards.
July 23 - Number Nine returns to our series with their popular interpretations of Beatles music.
