Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 7:45 p.m. Just as art-pop messiahs
XTC were to English new wave, the Mommyheads remain arguably the
best-kept secret of American indie pop. After two decades of deaths,
break-ups, and lots of rock and roll, these CBGB regulars returned just
last year with their 11th full-length album. The Philistines Jr: Hifi
and lofi, acoustic and electronic, jokey but ever melancholy. The
Zambonis: They write songs about hockey, love, life and hockey. That
concept should absolutely suck but, they absolutely do not.
