Greater Newington Charitable Society, Inc. (GNCS) is holding a Derby Party fundraiser to support The Autism Center at the Hospital for Special Care and Train A Dog Save A Warrior (TADSAW).
The event will be held at TJ's on Cedar located at 4 East Cedar Street on Saturday, May 4th starting at 3 p.m. Attendees can watch the big race on big-screen TVs and enjoy a variety of complimentary food. There will be prizes for best hat and best dressed, plus Derby games, a betting board, a photo booth and specialty drinks.
GNCS President Melanie Tregoning explains, "The two charities that will benefit from this event are doing important work in their fields -- The Hospital for Special Care is the only patient-centered specialty practice in the United States, and TADSAW rescues kill-shelter dogs, pairs them with veterans surviving with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and trains them as a team at no charge to the veteran."
Ticket reservations will be sold in advance only. Only 100 tickets will be made available. Visit gncsociety.org to reserve tickets.
Event sponsors include Campbell Heating & Cooling, Connecticut Insurance Exchange of Newington and Southington, Doolittle Funeral, Elaine's Bar & Grill, Fred Googel DMD, Image360, IP Genie, Joe's Foreign Car Repair, London & London, MTCD, New England Urgent Care, Ray Seraphin Ford, Sojourn Mortgage Company, Turgeon Jewelers, and Up in Smoke BBQ.
