As part of SWPRD's annual Trails for Charities fundraiser, you can traverse an approximately 1.6-mile trail. Since this is a "fun run," how long it takes you to run, jog, walk, hop, skip (you name it!) the trail won't be timed. That's right: You can exercise without pressure, have fun, make new friends, and raise money for Starfish all at once! Families (including leashed pets!) are encouraged to participate in this fun way to get outside and enjoy our parks while supporting a great cause!
We'll also have a table at which you could participate in a raffle, purchase items for sale, and learn more about the Starfish Foundation, a nonprofit founded by a South Windsor resident that empowers at-risk Ecuadorian youth to achieve a post-secondary education in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
SWPRD will ensure there are safety and first aid measures, water stations, and other important needs. There also will be food trucks and live music, as well as multiple other races taking place during the day.
Please note that Trails for Charities will happen, rain or shine.
Also, there are many great causes being represented at this event. To support Starfish, make sure to sign up with our registration form, and check in at the Starfish table on the day of the event!
