Litchfield Jazz will hold its second annual camp scholarship fundraiser. The event is hosted by the generous owners of the Litchfield Distillery and all proceeds go to supporting students with financial need at this summer's Litchfield Jazz Camp at the Gunnery in Washington, CT.

Spring Spirits is a party with just about everything--tasty hors d'oeuvres and small plates by Ciesco Catering, Mint Julips to toast the Kentucky Derby winner, wonderful jazz led by internationally renowned saxophonist, Albert Rivera, and both a silent and a live auction.  Guests who are fond of dancing are invited to kick up their heels, too.

The live auction is hosted by WNPR's charming and funny on-air host, John Dankosky.  Partygoers can bid on two exciting trips-- a week in Tuscany for two and an Ocean View stateroom on the 20th Sailing of The Jazz Cruise 2020 aboard the Celebrity Infinity, a  full-ship-charter jazz festival at sea by Entertainment Cruise Productions LLC .  The 2020 lineup includes Christian McBride, Arturo Sandoval, John Clayton, Dianne Reeves, Kurt Elling, Wycliffe Gordon, Randy Brecker  (both Wycliffe and Randy are featured on the 2019 Litchfield Jazz Fest), Joey DeFrancesco, the Brubeck Brothers, Anat Cohen, pianists Benny Green and Renee Rosnes and dozens of other top jazz artists.  Nowhere else can you see this many jazz stars under one roof, and all while visiting exotic places like Costa Maya, Cozumel, Nassau, Key West and Miami.

The silent auction includes tickets to Tanglewood, the Hartford Yard Goats, local theater and jazz performances, a basket of Litchfield Distillery favorites, restaurant meals, a Chocolate Gift Basket valued at $200 but priceless to those who have ever tasted Thorncrest Farm's Milkhouse chocolates, spa and yoga certificates and more.

The Connecticut Community Foundation has pledged to match the first $1000 in scholarship donations at the event to help close the current $10,000 gap between scholarship resources  raised this year ($40,000) and those requested.  Litchfield Performing Arts, the nonprofit behind Litchfield Jazz Camp and Festival, is a tax-exempt charity so donations are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by the law.

Litchfield Jazz encourages guests to attend, have a great evening, and help maintain their proudly held record of never turning away a student in need in all their 23 years of presenting Litchfield Jazz Camp.
