The Hartford Symphony Orchestra announced that local choirs Schola Cantorum and the Connecticut Children's Chorus will join the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.

The HSO will perform this magical score live from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen. The 2018-2019 POPS! Series is sponsored by United Technologies. The HSO is sponsored by Prudential.

In their third year at Hogwarts, Harry, Ron and Hermione meet escaped prisoner Sirius Black and learn to handle a half-horse/half-eagle Hippogriff, repel shape-shifting Boggarts and master the art of Divination. Harry must also withstand soul-sucking Dementors, outsmart a dangerous werewolf and deal with the truth about Sirius and his relationship to Harry and his parents.

Earning an Oscar nomination for the score, the spellbinding and masterful music composed by John Williams became a celebrated classic, conjuring beautiful, soaring motifs continuing the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends on their magical journey.

The Cathedral of St. Joseph's Schola Cantorum was founded in 1999 by Archdiocesan Music Director and Organist, Dr. Ezequiel Menéndez, and is comprised of professional singers. The choir maintains a very high standard of musical excellence; many of the choristers are accomplished vocal soloists and music educators. Choirmaster Meredith Neumann leads this well-respected choir. The choir's repertoire encompasses the full range of Roman Catholic music, including plainchant, a cappella motets from the 16th through 20th centuries, music for chorus and orchestra, as well as newly commissioned works.

The award-winning Connecticut Children's Chorus (CCC), under the direction of Meredith Neumann, is the region's most comprehensive auditioned youth choral program. Founded in 1991 within The Hartt School Community Division, CCC has grown from one 60-voice choir to seven choirs encompassing over 220 students (grades 1 through 12) from 40 Connecticut communities.
