A community-wide, friendly competition featuring chili from 25 to 30 chefs. Area restaurants and organizations cook up their tastiest pot of chili to compete for the honor of "best chili." Enjoy sampling a wide range of chili, from mild to spicy with names like La Jarocha, 50 Shades of Chili, and Golden In-Fern-O.
This is truly a community-wide event with participation by area restaurants as well as non-profit and civic organizations. What makes this event unique is that each chili entrant is competing to win a donation for their designated charity. Ballots are ten dollars each and can be purchased at Ballot Stations along Main Street during the event, and in advance at the Chamber office, 1 Main Street in Old Saybrook.
The top three vote getters are awarded first, second, and third place, receive a donation to the charity of their choice, and earn bragging rights for the year.
Event proceeds benefit the Chamber's C. Wilfred Hunter Memorial Scholarship fund. Chili Fest is generously sponsored by Guilford Savings Bank.
