Info

In addition to a ceremony of appreciation, coffee and breakfast will be served. Ed Olsace, Commander of Thomaston's American Legion Post 22, will be leading the program to commemorate veterans of all wars along with other officials of the Post.

The Thomaston Historical Society's Robert Magdziarz is adding a special feature to the event.  He has posted photos of several Thomaston veterans from different wars on the station bulletin board.  Magdziarz, like many young men from Thomaston, left for his military service from the train station.  He served in the Army Signal Corps starting in 1953.  His brother, Zigmund, also took a train from the station to serve in 1944.  Zigmund Magdiarz also served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II.
