The Board of Directors of the 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm are hosting a public Welcome Reception for newly appointed Executive Director Beth Bye, as well as Jennifer Elman Cushman, a Board Member who was recently appointed the Hartford County 4-H Extension's Educator.
The public is invited to attend the reception at the 4-H Education Center at Auerfarm in Bloomfield. UCONN ice cream and other refreshments will be served.
To honor the legacy of farm founder Beatrice Fox Auerbach, Bye will outline her vision to connect people, agriculture and the environment through education and recreation. While one of Bye's main goals is strengthen relationships with schools and school districts, she also envisions a more accessible resource for outdoor recreation for all sectors of the population in conjunction with the new Auerfarm State Park. Bye has extensive experience in education and non-profit management, as well as a strong commitment to farming.
